Not enough goodies for the money (2009-05-01)
I used to eat these chips like it was going out of style. However, of late, the bags in the store (in this case, Whole Foods) have been about one-fifth full of broken chips, chip fragments and chip dust. They aren't cheap, the bag doesn't contain that much in the first place and I can't afford to pay for this much "breakage" no matter how tasty they are.
Blech (2009-02-06)
Even though the chips arrived at least a month before their expiration date, the aroma of rancid oil assaulted my nose on the first bag. The chips tasted stale and bland. Just to be thorough, I checked several more bags and found them all to be inedible. Thank goodness for curbside composting. It will take a while to work up the nerve to try these again.
Have A MORE Corn chips! (2008-07-27)
Dude, I've been eating these chips since I was in Jr. High, and they haven't changed since....I'm now 36! Ok, so growing up in the Dana Point/Laguna area, I am partial to them because they bring back so many fun memories! I am so excited to see that they are avail. on Amazon...never knew this, and they're WAAAAYYY cheaper than in the local stores. I just paid $2.50 for a bag today (July 26, '08) at Ralphs in Dana Pt. Now I live in AZ and I'm able to bring 'em home for me and my family to partake in! You just can't Have-a-more than one Chip! ;)
The BEST corn chips ever. (2008-07-04)
I first came across these chips around 1990 and have loved them since. these simple chips have more flavor and better flavor than any other corn chip out there. They are really great plain or with any exceptional salsa.
deliciously different (2008-05-22)
i can buy these cheaper here than when i lived in Laguna Beach, where they were 1.79 at Pavilions. excellent plain, but also super with fresh homemade salsa, guacamole or even whipped cream cheese. as to the comment about broken chips: they tend to be like that even when you buy them locally. i just let the broken ones fall to the bottom of the bag and eat them with a spoon. now if only Amazon would carry Rusty's Island Chips, the world's most industrial-strength potato chips, made on Balboa Island...
